Johnson Controls announced that they are partnering with Evolv Technology, the company in free-flow smart threat detection, to bring increased safety and security to customers looking to prevent active shooter and terrorist threats at their venues. Evolv Technology’s free-flow weapons-detection systems are powered by the Evolv Cortex AI software platform, delivering the industry’s fastest throughput of more than 3,600 people screened per hour and can quickly distinguish between threats and personal items such as keys, coins, belts and cell phones on their body or in their bag.

“Evolv Technology’s free-flow smart threat detection is a welcomed addition as a partner to our portfolio of weapons-detection technologies,” said Hank Monaco, vice president, marketing, Johnson Controls, Building Solutions North America. “Our strategic partnership allows us to offer our customers increased peace of mind while saving them the time it takes to empty pockets in a security check and focus on their goals.”

Evolv Technology can be integrated with other technologies, such as video surveillance and access control, to provide a more complete building-wide solution for multiple industries, including education, healthcare, financial institutions and entertainment venues. The solution will be available to distribute and service at more than 200 full-service brick and mortar offices throughout North America, as well as more than 3,800 service personnel.

“We’re living in a new era of viral violence that’s created a mass vulnerability problem,” said Mike Ellenbogen, chief executive officer, Evolv Technology. “Given Johnson Controls’ breadth of emergency response offerings, we knew we wanted to partner with them to prevent active shooter and workplace violence events for their customers. We’re thrilled to work together with Johnson Controls to reach more markets and help keep employees and visitors safer in the places they work and play.”
