Watermark Baton Rouge, an iconic luxury hotel and part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, has selected VingCard Essence door locks by ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions to maximize guest and staff safety with its use of the industry's latest data encryption protocols. As a historic property that seeks to provide its guests with sophisticated and stylish surroundings, Watermark Baton Rouge also selected Essence due to the lock's ability to seamlessly blend in with the property's unique art deco design, while equipping guests with an array of convenience-enhancing features.

A solution that leads the hospitality industry in maintaining hotel and guest safety at all times, VingCard Essence utilizes advanced encryption technology to eliminate the risk of keycard cloning and unauthorized access. With Essence's proven ability to also enhance convenience and ease of use, guests staying at the Watermark Baton Rouge will experience seamless access to their assigned guestrooms with RFID technology that features maximum reading distances. With its wireless online compatibility and integration with the Visionline access management platform, Essence also provides hotel staff with the ability to extend guest stays or reassign a guest to another guestroom without requiring a visit to the front desk. Designed to complement any hotel decor via its minimalistic design approach, Essence door locks encase all electronic components within the door itself, allowing the solution to effortlessly blend in with Watermark Baton Rouge's sophisticated art deco design. Hotel leadership are also able to select from an array of door handle options to further accentuate the property's unique style.

"VingCard Essence door locks represent an ideal blend of technology and style which fits perfectly with the goal of Watermark Baton Rouge to provide each of its guests with a unique, seamless and always enjoyable hotel stay experience," said Adam Gautreaux, General Manager at Watermark Baton Rouge. "With Essence, we are not only able to ensure that guests find the peace-of-mind that they seek but can also readily adapt to upcoming needs thanks to the solution's future-proof design and Mobile Access compatibility."

As a fully Mobile Access compatible solution, VingCard Essence provides hotels with the ability to instantly and cost-effectively upgrade to digital key functionality with no need to replace existing hardware. With the addition of Mobile Access, Essence allows hotel guests to use personal smart devices as a secure digital key in order to access their guestroom. Placing a priority on both convenience and guest security, Mobile Access is designed using ASSA ABLOY's patented Seos technology. This ensures all digital keys and room number details are fully encrypted and transmitted to guest devices using a secure communications channel. Once received, the information is then stored within a digital vault located within the mobile app. When a guest presents the device to the appropriate door lock, Seos again transmits digital key data via a secure channel, ensuring that only those authorized are ever able to gain access.
