What makes a perfect cappuccino? The beans, the foam, the flavor – but also the atmosphere in which it is consumed. Uni-President Starbucks, a joint venture of Uni President China Holdings and the Starbucks Coffee Company, has invested in the perfect coffee experience by installing Bosch sound systems in all of its stores in Shanghai as well as in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces.

To upgrade customer experience at their stores, Uni-President Starbucks contracted Bosch Security Systems to equip about 200 existing stores with new sound systems. Each Bosch sound system consists of a PLENA economy (PLE) mixer amplifier and several premium-sound cabinet loudspeakers apt for indoor and outdoor use. The same sound system will also be used in the 300 new stores that are expected to open in the course of this year.

PLENA public address systems from Bosch

PLENA public address systems are made specifically for small-to-mid-sized locations like restaurants or filling stations. It allows users to define different zones that can be addressed individually. This means that music can be played at different volumes in different areas of a store, while voice announcements via microphone are optimized for speech intelligibility across different noise levels. Store personnel can feed music into each system e.g. from a computer or an mp3 player. Wall panels allow the staff to comfortably control zones and volumes of the sound system remotely.
