In the first half of 2014, Hikvision gained US$1 billion sales revenue with 53.9 percent growth, while for the overseas market, the sales growth rate reach more than 100 percent. “The success can be attributed to the company's long-term commitment toward product strategy and customer services in the worldwide markets,” said Polo Cai, VP of Hikvision Digital Technology.

Complete HD Solutions Tailored for Applications

Hikvision, originally positioned as a product manufacturer, now has started to get more involved with providing solutions. A key element to supporting the company's development of solutions is its competitive products, plus a strong brand. “It is very obvious that customers need HD video surveillance products for all the verticals and applications. To give into the demand toward HD, Hikvision now focuses on developing a complete HD product line and specific sales strategies, tailoring for entry-level, middle-, and high-end sectors. Meanwhile, each segment market still has specific demands other than HD, such as smart technology, ease-of-use, and others features,” said Keen Yao, International Marketing Director of Hikvision.

How Hikvision intends to acquire more market share in the SMB market is through its “HDTVI” products, based on a new HD-over-coaxial solution, TVI. HDTVI solves the drawbacks of HD-SDI solutions — it is able to transmit HD video data within a 500-meter distance via coaxial cable and most importantly is cost-effective.

Levels Up Global Presence and Strengthens Local Services

To gain more global presence in the future, Hikvision continues to deeply permeate and expand its markets in the world, ranging from Americas, EMEA to APAC region. Aiming to build up a designated local team in each market, Hikvision decided to increase more local hiring. Also, each regional office will accommodate warehouses, logistics centers, and service centers for efficient pre-sales and after-sales supports. Cai said, “Hikvision is now expanding its warehouses in Amsterdam and Los Angeles to make sure the product supply is instant to its local markets. In the U.S., we also set up a call center and service center to provide more efficient customer service and technical supports. In Southeast Asia, Hikvision is hiring more local staffs - most are technical engineers in Singapore, to serve more vertical customers, including metro, public safety department, traffic control and financial institutes.”

“Hikvision works very closely with our partners to win the trust of our customers by providing professional technical supports. In Southeast Asia, Hikvision launched Vsmart! Partner Program, offers professional service from technical consultant to security solution design based on customers' requirements. The plan includes several tiers partnership as Emerald, Sapphire, Ruby and Jade while we also open the technical partner collaboration with operators from SaaS, CMS, Access Control and other platform.”
