Singapore government reveals US$960m new ICT tenders in 2014: Cyber security, data analytics, infrastructure, cloud and mobile.

The Singapore Government has announced that $960 million worth of new infocomm tenders will be called in the financial year of 2014, for areas such as cyber security, infrastructure and system development and maintenance, as well as data analytics, cloud and mobile services.

Speaking at the Industry Briefing this morning, Chan Cheow Hoe, Assistant Chief Executive, Government Chief Information Office, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), highlighted the need for the Singapore government to adapt to change if it wants to remain at the forefront of digital government.

“The $960 million budget will translate into approximately 380 projects, with 90% of these opportunities to be contracts that are under $4 million so that more companies can participate,” said Chan.

Besides IDA, other government agencies also presented their infocomm procurement plans for 2014.

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will be leveraging on technology to enhance their operational capabilities and augment the limited manpower resources on the ground. In the next 3 years, they will be investing more resources in areas such as video analytics, business analytics, modeling and simulation.

The Ministry of Law (MinLaw) and its statutory boards will be investing in their 3-year ICT roadmap on 3D geospatial and integrated land information service. Service-oriented architecture and analytics will also be leveraged to provide more user-centric services and generate insights for policy formulation. MinLaw will also be working on process re-engineering for tighter integration of its public services.
