The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) has named 3 possible locations for the proposed north integrated transport system (ITS).
These sites are located at the Philippine National Railways (PNR) property in Caloocan City, the University of the Philippines (UP) in Diliman, and the Seedling Bank in Quezon City.
“There are three (possible sites). These are the Caloocan PNR site, UP, and a new discovery would be Seedling Bank along Quezon Avenue and EDSA,” said Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya.
Abaya noted that the DOTC is in talks with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista regarding the use of the Seedling Bank property, which is located at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Agham Road in Barangay Pag-asa.
Meanwhile, the issues that stalled the bidding for the proposed south ITS have been resolved, Abaya added.
He said the exit ramp's location along C-6 has been included in the Supplemental Toll Operation Agreement (STOA).
The National Food Authority (NFA) will also relocate its warehouse situated inside the FTI Complex.
The south terminal will connect passengers coming from Cavite to other urban transport systems such as the LRT-1 South Extension to Bacoor in Cavite, city bus, taxi, and other public utility vehicles plying Metro Manila.
Bidders for the project include San Miguel Corp., conglomerate Ayala Corp. and property arm Ayala Land Inc., Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., Robinsons Land Inc., Filinvest Land Inc., Megawide Construction Corp., D.M. Wenceslao and Associates Inc., Vicente T. Lao Construction, Egis Projects Philippines, State Properties Corp., and Expedition Construction Corp.
