Indonesia's tropical weather climate is something OT systems keeps in mind when designing and customizing HD transmission for the country

Kendra Chan, Regional Sales Manager, Malaysia, OT Systems commented that “Indonesia is hot and humid and can experience heavy rain falls or typhoons throughout the year. Also, many places in Indonesia are prone to lightning strikes. The environmental factors are not ideal for conventional video transmission using coaxial cable to be used because it would probably result in high maintenance cost, electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI)."

“Fiber cables are immune to these interferences. The installation is rather cost-effective, and fiber cables are future-proof that allows flexible distribution and easy expansion of the system.”

Chan suggested that the security market in Indonesia needs to be nurtured with education about fiber optic transmission's flexible application, quality, and reliability.

“We are creating more awareness through meetings and discussions with various stake holders in a number of regional projects. Also, we participate in industry exhibitions and conferences. Instead of mass marketing and advertising campaigns, OT systems strategically approach customers at different levels: consultants, installers, SIs, developers, etc. This is to educate the system designers and users about our products' unique features and functions, and to understand what's needed for their specific project in order to provide the highest level of service and reliability possible.”

Chan is anticipating single-digit growth for the upcoming year. “We are outperforming our projections for the year and look forward to continued growth as we capitalize on new project opportunities from manufacturing, mining, and constructions from private enterprises.”
