Shenzhen-based ZTE Corporation hopes to continue assisting network partners in Malaysia by providing 4G communication solutions.

ZTE has already deployed 4G networks using the LTE technology for existing commercial LTE network partners such as DiGi.Com and U-Mobile.

"Malaysia is a small but important market for us in terms of selling handsets. At the same time, we are going for the LTE infrastructure as well," said Dr. Sean Cai, VP for Operator Solutions, ZTE.

DiGi.Com may invest about $194 million in capital expenditure over 3 years to gradually expand its LTE coverage to key urban centers in Malaysia. A total of 1,500 sites were targeted for expansion by year-end.
