Global security company Hanwha Techwin installed Wisenet cameras in Slovakia's beautiful national park, "Veľká Fatra." The company hopes to provide unique opportunities for the public to observe animals in their natural habitat, as part of project ‘Kukaj.sk.’

The project deployed Wisenet cameras across the park to allow crystal-clear monitoring of every environment. This forms a solution that provides live video streams of wild animals such as birds, bears, boars and foxes. Thanks to these cameras, many people can watch these wild animals and the picturesque natural scenery whenever and wherever, as they go about their daily lives, from the comfort of their homes. This valuable service can assist in the creation of new types of ecological learning material for students to experience wildlife, while enriching people’s lives with valuable experiences. Animal lovers hope it will ultimately contribute to the positive perception of ‘large beasts’ for people as well.

Hanwha Techwin’s Wisenet cameras, ‘PNO-9080R’ and ‘XNB-6000’, were the key solutions in enabling this project. Some of these cameras are permanently sited in carefully chosen locations throughout a wooded area which is known to be a migration trail for large beasts. Other cameras are regularly moved around the park to reflect the changing seasons and when, for example, storks leave their nests.

Wisenet ‘PNO-9080R’, 4K Bullet cameras feature built-in IR illumination as well as Digital Auto Tracking, enabling the clear detection of swiftly moving animals even during the darkest of nights. The camera delivers crisp, optimized images, even when monitoring the outdoors where numerous can interfere with image quality. The Defocus Detection feature which recognizes when a camera is out of focus due to various external factors such as high winds, while the Lens Distortion Correction(LDC) corrects distorted video images. In addition, it features H.265 with WiseStream, Hanwha Techwin’s unique compression technology which improves data management efficiency by up to 75% compared to the current H.264.

Wisenet ‘XNB-6000’, 2-megapixel Full HD cameras deliver vibrant colored images even when lighting is as low as 0.01Lux@F1.2, and features 150dB Wide Dynamic Range(WDR) to accurately produce images in scenes that simultaneously contain both bright dark areas. Its innovative defogging feature rectifies blurry images in misty conditions and the built-in Gyro sensors offer the necessary stability, which comes into effect when a camera is disturbed by wind or vibrations, creating more stable images. Thanks to these original functions, perfect, steady monitoring is possible in all-weather types.

Network engineer Ivan Darani of PROFI-NET,s.r.o, one of the fastest growing network and infrastructure specialists that worked closely with Hanwha Techwin for this project, said, “Considering the dark, humid, and densely wooded installation environment, we tested cameras from various manufacturers in terms of their ability to capture superb images in varying light and weather conditions. The Wisenet cameras stood head and shoulders above the rest with their excellent performance. Its audio support feature is especially astonishing, enhancing the visitors’ experience by enabling them to hear background bird sounds.”

Besides their importance toward wildlife observation, which is the project’s main purpose, Wisenet cameras also play a positive, vital role in maintaining park safety. Recently, a camera quickly spotted and assisted in the rescue a man who had gotten lost while wandering around the park.
