Germany-based Cyrus is notable for being the manufacturer of high-end outdoor mobile and smartphone. From the beginning in 2013, their attention was valid on know-how, client satisfaction and quality with their main origin: Outdoor Mobility.

While seeing smart home a very ambitious industry, Cyrus joined the market of smart home products. “For us, it was a sustained decision. We know that most of the German and European households are not ready at the moment for an entire smart home. At the same time, the market is still very complex and obscure,” explained Manuel Wlochowitz, BU Manager of Cyrus.

As there are many service providers and different techniques in the market, Cyrus is working in a close connection with Herweck, a German distributor of IT communications hardware and solutions. Herweck is the exclusive sales partner and distributor for Cyrus smart home products with their strong background experience in telecommunications field for more than 30 years. They are in charge of the whole logistics for Cyrus smart home as well.

At the same time, Cyrus had reached the decision to start with Z-Wave as RF standard. “Today we are one step proceeded. We furthermore adhere in Z-Wave technique because current trends speaks for this. In regard to Apple HomeKit and the interaction with Z-Wave, it gives me a positive feeling for our solution in future. We think that we are able to find a suitable position in the connected living industry,” said Wlochowitz.

Currently, Cyrus is focusing on DIY end-users, and having the Cyrus 4-in-1 Multisensor as its best-seller. The 4-in-1 Multisensor has a good price-performance ratio, and proofs the big demand and great customer interests for Z-Wave connected multisensors in the market. “However, professional installation are also interesting to us. We are in a process to create an installer program. It is expected to be ready in first half of 2018 and bring more possibilities for home builders,” added Wlochowitz.

With various stand-alone products like Wi-Fi camera, Wi-Fi smart plug and smoke sensor in the growing smart home product line, Cyrus has plans to develop more additional products such as outdoor IP camera and solutions that are compatible to Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

In the promising connected world, Cyrus is also looking forward to expand its international market deployment out of Germany in the future. “Since a few months, we are under discussions with customers in Austria, Switzerland, France, UK and some smaller companies in Eastern Europe. So I think we’re also in a good way for internationalization,” said Wlochowitz positively.
