MediaTek India, the Taiwanese semiconductor firm’s Indian branch, recently launched two IoT devices in India – a smart doorbell and a mobile healthcare device.

The smart video doorbell was made in collaboration with PiOctave, a product-design company based in Bengaluru, India. The product monitors door surroundings and may be triggered to send alerts under abnormal circumstances.

The built-in camera has night vision and 180-degree panoramic view. It connects to the user’s mobile app and sends notifications when intrusions are detected. The app also has group calling, emergency services and neighborhood connect features.

The other IoT device H100 was developed with Chainway, a technology manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China. The gadget is designed for the healthcare industry. With a fingerprint sensor and a built-in camera, the device can scan a patient’s wristband to attain medical history and other information in real time.

Also, hospitals may record patient condition or track staff workload and schedule with the device.

Through IoT and cloud computing technologies, H100 connects to HIS and EMR media systems via Wi-Fi or 4G networks.

Collaborating with PiOctave and Chainway is an essential part of MediaTek’s commitment to make every-day life stress-free and more convenient, said Mr. Kuldeep Malik, India’s head of Corporate Sales International at MediaTek.

“Through our R&D efforts and constant technology advancements, MediaTek continues to deliver technology to enrich, and enhance everyday life. MediaTek is looking ahead to work closely with them while offering smart, and sustainable chipset solutions for their upcoming products,” Malik added.

Both devices will be available in the third quarter of 2017.
