Ring, a smart doorbell maker acquired by Amazon, is taking pre-orders for its DIY home security system, Ring Alarm, which will start shipping on July 4.
Ring’s home security system was first announced last October, and it was called Ring Protect then. A lawsuit with ADT, however, caused a delay and was rebranded. The product is now finally ready to ship to homeowners.
Ring Alarm comes with one motion sensor, one door/window sensor, one base station, a keypad and a range extender. The whole system costs US$199 while an additional door/window sensor costs US$20 and an additional motion sensor costs US$30.
