Google’s smart speaker outsold Amazon’s for the first time in the first quarter of 2018, according to a report by market analysis firm Canalys. Between January and March 2018, Google shipped 3.2 million Google Home devices while Amazon shipped 2.5 million Echo units.

Google Home sold in the first quarter 2018 accounted for 36.2 percent of global smart speaker shipment, followed by Amazon’s 27.7 percent, Alibaba’s 11.8 percent and Xiaomi’s seven percent.
