Honeywell, a smart home company with thermostat as its flagship product, has designed a new app called Honeywell Home, aiming to replace the current Lyric app. The company also introduced a paid plan along with this new app.

Honeywell Lyric app was launched with the company’s first smart home product, to let customers remotely control the thermostat device.

As the company’s product portfolio expands to other smart devices such as security cameras, water leak sensors and home security system, the new Home app was released to cover all the smart home gadgets.

The new app has a dashboard to show all the Honeywell connected devices at home, and a motion and sound timeline to check all the notifications in one place.

It also has a new interface design and better geofencing than the original app. Different from Honeywell Lyric, the new name Honeywell Home offers a different impression which entails home automation control designed for Honeywell devices.

The company claims to have built the new app from ground up in order to provide better performance and stability.

Current Honeywell Lyric users will receive a notification to install the new Honeywell Home app.

Honeywell also introduced a new paid subscription plan for its C1 and C2 Wi-Fi security cameras and the upcoming smart security system.

The free membership provides one day of cloud video storage and a maximum view of 50 video clips.

A standard membership costs US$4.99, which includes 30 days of cloud video storage, viewing of a maximum of 1,500 video clips and five-percent off on Honeywell home product purchases. The cloud storage plan is limited to only one security camera.

A premium membership costs US$14.99, which enables users to have 60 days of cloud video storage, up to 3,000 video clips viewing and 15-percent off on home devices purchases. The cloud storage plan works with unlimited number of cameras.
