Tailwind launches multi-use Tailwind iQ3 for smart home automation

Tailwind, a Canadian tech startup company, announced the launch of its first product, the multi-use Tailwind iQ3 smart module. The tech gadget allows homeowners to use their smartphones or other smart devices like their Apple Watch to control and monitor their garage doors, gas fireplaces, sprinklers for irrigation, sump pump water levels, pool heaters, security systems, and more for as little as $29.
 
Tailwind can notify you if your home alarm system goes off while you’re away – with no monthly fee. It can function as a security system for sheds and garages. It can control and monitor up to 3 garage doors for up to 80% less than competing products. It can control a gas fireplace for 50% less than a typical remote control. It can control a pool heater without requiring a special hub or advanced control systems costing hundreds and even thousands of dollars. A second Tailwind iQ3 can be placed on your night table to alert you of any problems if you turn off your Smartphone at night.
 
Tailwind stands apart from other smart home products and platforms with its easy setup, affordability, unique multi-use modules, and patent pending networking code that can extend the range, allow it to operate without a special hub, and can continue to work locally if the home wireless network is down.
 
The Tailwind project is now live on the popular crowd funding website Kickstarter with a goal of raising $125,000. Backers that act quickly will be able to purchase the tech gadget at an early bird price of just $25 US dollars ($33 Canadian dollars).
 
“No other product can do what these can, and no other platform is as cost efficient to operate. We are going to disrupt many markets with these smart modules because they do so many things at a lower cost than competitive solutions for each application,” said Scott Riesebosch, president of Tailwind.
 
Shipping is scheduled to begin in March.
