Cooking app Chefling integrates with Bosch Home Connect

Cooking app Chefling integrates with Bosch Home Connect
Chefling has announced a partnership with Bosch and Thermador, a Bosch subsidiary focusing on bringing IoT elements to home cooking appliances.
Chefling, a California-based startup offering artificially intelligent cooking app, has announced a partnership with Bosch and Thermador, a Bosch subsidiary focusing on bringing IoT elements to home cooking appliances.

Through the partnership, Chefling will be added into the Home Connect platform, a unified control platform for Bosch-made home appliances.

Chefling works like the Alexa in the kitchen, which allows users to ask for instructions and relevant information during cooking.

UltraConnect, a new feature introduced by Chefling, for example, enables users to ask for recipe options simply by saying culinary keywords. It can also coordinate multiple connected cooking appliances when users prepare food. It can also take cooking time and defrost temperatures into account.

Chefling has voice apps for Google Home and Amazon Echo speakers, which can walk users through cooking instructions, suggest recipes based on what’s available in the kitchen and add items to shopping list.

The shopping list feature also lets users scan store receipts, with receipts or barcodes from Walmart, Target or Safeway.

Users can also track expiration dates of perishables in the fridge and order products from online retailers and grocery stores from the Chefling app.

“What we’re trying to do is build the complete (kitchen) assistant,” Amar Krishna, co-founder of Chefling, told VentureBeat.

“Chefling was created to make cooking simpler and more enjoyable. This aligns well with the vision of BSH Home Appliances, which is to improve the quality of life for consumers by offering unique experiences that add true value and convenience - everything from shopping to cooking to automatic ordering,” Krishna said.
