Approximately 1,700 smart homes in Future Park Istanbul, a complex of high-rise buildings covering 35,000 square metres, will be equipped with Yale smart locks from ASSA ABLOY in 2017.

The ambitious development project, which involves an investment of 450 million TL (€111m approx.), is overseen by Hiper Gayrimenkul group, a leading player in Turkey’s real estate sector.

Future Park offers an array of services for its residents, including the latest in home automation, integrated by residential technology specialists Aypro.

The project encompasses a 5-star hotel, shopping mall, banks, multi-sports facilities, offices and restaurants. It is located by Esenyurt Haramidere Park, with 40 hectares of green space, and is well connected to Atatürk Airport, Istanbul University, Esenyurt State Hospital and Esenyurt University.

Every apartment at Future Park is designed around the “smart home” or “home automation” concept. As the smart home experience starts at the door step with convenient and reliable access control, the security of every dwelling must be of high quality.

The Yale smart lock with its grand quality and design provides the highest-level security at a cost-effective price, says Alper Uludag, Project Manager at Hiper Gayrimenkul. “Making the decision to work with a trusted global supplier of smart home security like ASSA ABLOY was the best choice.”

The energy-efficient smart door lock is powered by standard batteries. It allows residents to open their front door via their smart home system, with a secure PIN or RFID smart card without using a physical key.

Integration of the smart lock with the apartments’ smart home system was straightforward and wire-free. The lock’s easy operation and design contributed to the choice of ASSA ABLOY’s solution, the company said. RF communication also allows remote opening of the entrance door using a smart home app at Future Park.

Further smart home services at Future Park include automatic extinguishing of energy and gas supply; activation of the security system under programmed risk conditions; remote adjustment of temperature and lighting; and intelligent management of energy consumption, which provides 40% savings to a typical resident’s monthly utility bill.
