EnOcean launches Easyfit wireless self-powered wall switches for lighting control
Energy harvesting technology company EnOcean has launched a new line of wireless self-powered wall switches to control LED lighting, which runs on the Bluetooth Low Energy radio standard.
Energy harvesting technology company EnOcean has launched a new line of wireless self-powered wall switches to control LED lighting, which runs on the Bluetooth Low Energy radio standard.

The products are marketed under the brand name of Easyfit, which is being showcased at Smart Lighting 2017 Conference held at Hamburg, May 30-31.

The wall switches are maintenance-free as they do not require batteries. They are freely positionable and allow flexible control as well as intuitive usage, the company said.

EnOcean said its news products enable lighting installers to unlock the full potential of LED lighting systems with simple, easy-to-install, maintenance-free switches. The switches also increase energy efficiency and save costs, the company added.

The Easyfit Bluetooth Low Energy switches are available in two different design versions: The Easyfit switch with standardized 55x55mm frame (EWSSB/EWSDB) allows installers to easily replace any 55×55 switch frame from a number of renowned manufacturers such as BERKER, GIRA, Jäger Direkt, JUNG and MERTEN. The second design is the Easyfit switch for North America (ESRPB/EDRPB).

Easyfit switches can be commissioned by Near Field Communication (NFC) to allow simple or complex lighting scenes and effects. The switches are supported by Casambi, Silvair and Xicato.

With the Mesh Stack, Silvair provides a wireless communication engine for robust and fully scalable mesh lighting. The integration of Easyfit switches into the Mesh allows an optimal, maintenance-free control of lighting systems with low latency, even in high-density lighting networks. It can be updated over-the-air to become compliant with the upcoming Bluetooth Mesh standard following its adoption.

The combination of the energy harvesting wireless Easyfit switches with the features of Xicato´s LED lighting modules allows simple or complex lighting scenarios, and enables flexible installation. These self-powered lighting solutions are used in some of the world’s finest museums, retail stores, hotels and residences.
