Ring launches Spotlight Cam with different installation options
The Spotlight Cam line features LED light panels that turn on when motions are detected, as well as a 1080p HD camera with two-way audio.
Security camera provider Ring has expanded on its product line with the new Ring Spotlight Cam that, with wired, battery-powered or sun-powered option to meet customers’ varying installation needs, are accessible to more homeowners.

The Spotlight Cam line features LED light panels that turn on when motions are detected, as well as a 1080p HD camera with two-way audio.

All Ring products integrate with one another and are controlled through the Ring app, creating a complete “Ring of Security” around homes and reducing neighborhood crime, the company says.

The new Ring Spotlight Cam comes on the heels of the recent release of the 2nd generation Ring Video Doorbell and the world’s first motion activated floodlight camera, Ring Floodlight Cam.

The new Ring Spotlight Cams provide additional, easy-to-install security options for the potentially vulnerable areas around the home that need to be monitored.

Just as Ring provides various solutions to protect different front door configurations, it also provides several outdoor security devices for every home and property layout, regardless of installation requirements.

The wired Spotlight Cam is available for purchase at Ring.com and will begin shipping in 7-10 days. The battery powered and solar powered Spotlight Cams are available for pre-order at Ring.com and will begin shipping this fall. The new devices will also be available in the more than 16,000 U.S. retail locations Ring products are sold in, including Best Buy and Home Depot.

Ring says its devices have proven to be effective, proactive security solutions that prevent crime and deter package thefts in neighborhoods around the world. Jamie Siminoff, founder and chief inventor of Ring, said, “With the new Spotlight Cam, we are empowering our ‘Neighbors’ (how we refer to Ring customers) with a new way to protect the entire perimeter of the home – from the front door to the backyard.”
