Semiconductor company Cypress has updated its WICED software development kit and added HomeKit support, allowing device manufacturers to integrate Apple’s smart home platform more easily.
The company brought two features in the update – iCloud certification and HomeKit support. The new version of the platform will allow developers and manufacturers to more easily create devices which can be controlled via Apple’s Home app or voice assistant Siri. No supporting bridge will be needed.
By using Cypress’s WICED development platform and ultra-low power CYW20719 Bluetooth microcontroller, manufacturers can integrate HomeKit into devices such as smart light bulbs.
