10 innovative smart devices using the Z-Wave protocol
Flex Automation offers multiple dimmers in one single lighting panel. The FXA 0600 standalone touch panel can control 6 lighting circuits with 4 scenes. The dimmer channels may be modified into on/off channels.

Flex Automation FXA 0600 touch

Flex Automation offers multiple dimmers in one single lighting panel. The FXA 0600 standalone touch panel can control 6 lighting circuits with 4 scenes. The dimmer channels may be modified into on/off channels.

With add on of a Z-Wave dongle behind the panel in double depth box, users can integrate it with other modules to form a mesh network, with scenes commanding lighting, blinds, air conditioning, locks, sensors and audio & video.

There are also built-in IR interface, digital clock, timer and security features like turning on a given dimmer channel every six hours automatically to simulate residents’ presence.

RTI Z-Wave Dimmer

Us the RTI Z-Wave Dimmer to adjust the light intensity to create the right ambience for any occasion. Accessory dimmer models allow control of up to 5 devices allowing multiple switches to be wirelessly paired together to control lights and RF receptacles.

For the ultimate in home automation, RTI Z-Wave lighting control solutions provide easy management of the lighting in and around a home. Enjoy the convenience of intuitive control from an in-wall smart switch, RTI user interface, smart phone, tablet or PC. Experience the added security and energy savings of automated lighting and event-based control that requires no interaction at all.

SiMPNiC S1 Gateway

The S1 gateway is the central command of the IoT solution launched by SiMPNiC, a sub-brand of Connection Technology Systems Inc. (CTS). The gateway uses the Z-Wave protocol to connect to different kind of sensors for different purposes. It connects to 6-in-1 sensor (for motion, humidity, vibration, UV, illumination and temperature detection), for example, to assist with home automation, intrusion detection and home environment monitoring.

SiMPNiC said the gateway is “open but secure.” The open platform makes the gateway’s API available and integration with clients’ back-end systems can be completed easily. The gateways also features “edge security.” All the data going in and coming out the gateway are encrypted, to ensure that only authorized users have access to the home network.

Ava Design AVA-88 Gateway

The gateway can connect to a number of Z-Wave sensors to enable home automation. The gateway has scene control features built-in, so that all the scenes will still function when there is an Internet outage.

The gateway has both wire and wireless connection to meet the need of different installers. It also supports Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit so users may control their smart homes with Siri.

Other features include advanced occupancy sensing, push notifications and custom automation scenes where one devices triggers another, a set time triggers light, door or lock controls, among other applications. Homeowners can also receive notifications when water is detected in the basement, when the smoke detector is triggered.

To ensure data security, the AVA-88 gateway connects to a cloud server via VPN encryption.

Dome Smart Electronic Mouse Trap

Dome Smart Mouse Trap helps homeowners and companies catch mice with less hassles. It is supposed to save users from cleaning up stinky and dirty mouse corpses.

When connected to a Z-Wave Hub, users will get notifications when something’s been caught so that they can empty the trap. It works with most Z-Wave hubs including those made by Home Seer, SmartThings, Vera and Nexia. The device may also work independently without Z-Wave connectivity.

This battery-powered mouse trap can be placed anywhere, and a set of battery can last about two years. The powerful electric shock knocks out rodents in a matter of seconds.

The mouse trap is ideal for commercial kitchens, restaurants and other types of businesses that have high sanitary standards.

GE Z-Wave Smart Motion Sensor

The GE Z-Wave Smart Motion Sensor boosts the safety and intelligence of your home by working with your smart home’s gateway to wirelessly trigger scenes and send alerts to your smartphone or tablet whenever motion is detected.

The discreet, versatile design of the smart sensor makes it suitable for any indoor space, with a detection range up to 180 degrees and up to 45 feet away. Depending on your room size, the sensor offers three different motion-detecting sensitivity levels: low, medium and high.

The device can sit on a shelf, table, counter or desk. It can also be mounted to wall or ceiling by using the included mounting hardware. It can be powered via micro USB cable or with batteries.

Good Way SD12010 Occupy Sensor

The Occupy Sensor is equipped with PIR and ultrasound technologies. The device may be applied to detect the presence of vehicles in a parking lot, or put to detect the presence of a student at a desk, among other use cases.

More sensors can be added in an environment and they are compatible with Good Way lighting control devices.

The device is very sensitive to minor motions, and is capable of measuring its distance of from the occupant to offer more detailed analysis.

The sensor is easy to install and can be set up in minutes. There is a 3-axis bracket with standard tripod hole, and can be fixed via screw lock or double-sided tape.

Aeotec Multisensor 6

The 6-in-1 sensor detects motion, temperature, humidity, light, UV and vibration. Claimed to be the foundation of a modern smart home, Multisensor 6’s small exterior hosts the technology for real-time intelligence. Designed and calibrated to be as accurate as it can be, the device’s accuracy varies as little as ±0.2%.

The sensor measures ultraviolet light and can protect your family’s health and your furniture from bleaching. With the newly added vibration sensor, MultiSensor 6 makes your environment secure like never before.

MultiSensor 6 is built around the latest Z-Wave 500 series chip and firmware, providing a 50% greater wireless range and a 250% faster communication speed over previous Z-Wave products. It has AES 128 bit security encryption built right in.

GoControl Thermostat

The Z-Wave smart thermostat is a battery-powered device that connects to all Z-Wave hubs, giving users control over their homes’ comfort wherever they are. It also works with Amazon Alexa to enable voice control.

This model is designed to be easy to install and includes a front-loading battery compartment to hold 4 AA batteries to power the thermostat for two years. Alternatively, it can be powered by the HVAC system’s 24 VAC C-wire. The 7-character scrolling display makes programming simple.

The thermostat works with most contemporary central HVAC systems, whether standard or heat pump, which makes this thermostat a great solution for all retrofit or new construction needs.
