While Bluetooth technology is prevalent in devices that need to transfer small amounts of data, the technology's limitations have prevented it from becoming the de-facto wireless technology. One of the biggest limitations is the distance. The Class 2 Bluetooth devices have a range of about 10 meters, or around 30 feet to avoid the quick depletion of the battery.
Full Enterprise’s new BLE CSR MESH solution has offered a way out. Based on the 4.2 version, the solution is capable of the transmission beyond 40 meters in the same rate of data transfer, which ensures Bluetooth’s main feature – low power consumption.
Cluster functioning as repeater
While the Bluetooth signal work through walls, the more objects that are in between the devices, the less overall range the devices will have. As the wireless transmission and connection between walls is critical for smart home users, Full Enterprise’s new BLE CSR MESH solution further design its module functioning as a signal repeater in the bluetooth mesh network to carry out Bluetooth network configuration, 1-to-many or vice versa. For example, the user separately adjusts the light color or controls on/off of each device under the sample Bluetooth network. That gives the wider deployment possibility for bluetooth devices in smart home.
