LifePod voice caregiver targets senior wellness in smart home

Seamlessly blended in the smart home atmosphere and interactive experience, LifePod is a voice-enabled technology which builds up the daily routine that caregivers can figure, and allows them to remotely monitor and check in on the senior people, clients, and patients at their agent place. The caregivers can ask as much questions as they want throughout the day.

As a combination of a conversational voice assistant based on Alexa, Internet-enabled sensors, and AI technology, users can talk in natural speech pattern like talking to a friend with LifePod.

“If the elderly stayed at home with their caregivers for twelve hours, they wouldn’t just sitting in front of each other. They would talk!” explained James Alvord, Chief Marketing Officer of LifePod Solutions. “As we’d like to say, we are giving voice to the caregivers. The natural companionship of the senior independent living is supported by intuitive conversation, instant emergency response, and routine check-ins and reminders.”

LifePod is currently testing in the healthcare market with nursing homes and care centers. The voice care service is expected to roll out in the US around Q4 this year.

From LifePod’s perspective, healthcare technologies in smart home should offer the benefit beyond data collection and activity monitoring. “We are targeting the wellness of the senior throughout the time they are at home, and recording the feeling and interaction rather than simply taking measurement from them. As people don’t need to learn new tricks, users of LifePod can greatly benefit from voice interface for home care,” said Alvord.

As elderly care applications going big in the industry, Alvord believes healthcare technologies will be connecting deeply with smart home and IoT, and voice will definitely be an important leader for the senior home care as a natural part of life.

Bringing the brand new technology into the market, LifePod aims to continually optimizing its system, allowing people to adopt it easily into home care with the rich functionalities and friendly user interface. “People are looking at voice technology trends right now and hoping to see how to leverage this innovation. Our customers are very much involving and guiding us for the product improvement. The feedbacks are really positive,” concluded Alvord.
