DIY security provider Swann launched Google Assistant voice control on its multi-camera wired surveillance systems. This innovation adds a new layer of convenience for end-users who can now simply ask, through voice commands, to see live video from home security cameras on their TV.

Now it's even easier to see what's happening at home. You can use voice commands to stream video from your security cameras to your TV using the Google Assistant via Google Home and Chromecast. With a simple voice command such as "Okay Google, show me channel one" or "Hey Google, show me the front door" you can see what the cameras see, hands-free.

"The team at Swann is excited to make home security easier for consumers to integrate into their daily lives," said Mike Lucas, CEO of Swann. "As consumers continue to add technology to their home, ease of use will be critical to ensuring a successful user experience."

Users will now be able to see what their security cameras are viewing using voice commands. This minimizes the time it takes to view your camera footage and allows peace of mind that your home and belongings are safe and secure.

"Voice assistant integration is a top technology trend of 2018 across a variety of consumer electronics which includes home security. While some wireless cameras have incorporated voice integrations, Swann is the first to bring this technology to wired multi-camera systems where we lead the market. Wired systems remain more robust and secure compared to their wireless counterparts and can offer users a view of multiple cameras on their TV with a simple voice command," said Alex Talevski, Chief Technology Officer at Swann.

To get started, users must download Swann's HomeSafe View app onto their mobile device and pair it with the Google Assistant. Then, voice commands will be responded to via the Google Assistant app or the Google Home speaker. From there, the user's Google Chromecast will recognize the commands and stream video from their security cameras to a smart TV.
