DW Spectrum mobile app supports two-way audio, enhanced fisheye dewarping

DW, the industry leader in digital recorders, surveillance cameras and related management software, introduces the latest version of the DW Spectrum Mobile App v18.1.18164 for smartphones and tablets running iOS and Android. DW Spectrum Mobile is a low-latency, user-friendly mobile application that allows users to connect to, view, search and control their surveillance systems. This release adds powerful new tools to enhance the user experience on both iOS and Android platforms. Users can make direct or DW Cloud connections to their systems over Wi-Fi or data networks.

DW Spectrum Mobile now offers users the ability to use two-way audio to communicate through their surveillance systems just like in the DW Spectrum client software.

This update also adds soft trigger overlay buttons to the mobile user’s experience to instantly trigger system actions within each video panel.

Improvements to the fisheye dewarping capabilities of DW Spectrum Mobile allow users to zoom to any point with pinch-to-zoom. Users can now zoom into dewarped images with two fingers and drag at the same time, or zoom in and out with a double tap and swipe.

In addition, the dialog box when a user logs in via DW Cloud has been improved. Finally, iPhone X users will notice improved screens with adjustments for the sensor notch at the top of the screen.

“Combining these new features and improvements with the recently added PTZ control, H.265 support and fisheye dewarping capability within DW Spectrum Mobile delivers a 5-star mobile user experience” said Patrick Kelly, Director of IP Video Solutions, DW.

DW Spectrum IPVMS can be accessed with the freely distributed DW Spectrum client software (Windows/Linux/Mac), via the DW Cloud web client from all leading web browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera), and the free DW Spectrum Mobile App for iOS and Android devices. The VMS software is included with pre-configured DW Blackjack NVR servers or it can be installed on third-party Windows or Ubuntu Linux-based systems.

DW Spectrum IPVMS updates automatically in systems where previous versions are already installed. The updates roll out automatically to supported devices with the app already installed. To download the apps, got to the Apple iOS App Store or Google Play Store and search “DW Spectrum” in the search bar.
