Panasonic Showcased unified surveillance technologies at ASIS 2017
Panasonic System Communications Company of North America showcased new additions to its Unified Surveillance Solutions portfolio.
Panasonic System Communications Company of North America, a leading provider of security and video surveillance platforms, showcased new additions to its Unified Surveillance Solutions portfolio at the ASIS Security Conference & Expo.

The company focused on highlighting a variety of solutions from its broad portfolio of fixed, mobile and body worn surveillance platforms, including both hardware and software that work together to help keep communities safe around the world. In addition, Panasonic featured two special exhibit areas that focus on both city and campus safety. The Safe City zone showcases high performance imaging and analytics technology that can monitor highway and street traffic, ruggedized cameras for extreme weather environments, and end-to-end evidence capture and management systems for law enforcement including new body worn cameras and evidence management software. The special Safe Campus zone offers an array of surveillance technologies that deliver better situational awareness on commercial and educational campuses including 4k-based 360 degree cameras, analytics software that can perform people counting and facial recognition, and transit-ready mobile surveillance cameras and recorder solutions suited for campus transportation vehicles and busses.

Panasonic also debuted the new Video Insight VI7 Security management software, the much anticipated next generation upgrade to the critically acclaimed VI 6 application, several significant additions to the recently introduced i-PRO Extreme technology platform which delivers a fully secure H.265, end-to-end solution as well as the latest Arbitrator in-car and Body Worn Evidence capture and management platforms.

New Video Insight VI7 Video Management Software:

Building on the success of VI’s acclaimed Monitor 6 software, Panasonic’s newly introduced Video Insight 7 (VI7), the latest generation of VI’s open-platform security management system, is now faster and more powerful than ever. Redesigned from the ground up to deliver improved performance, enhanced scalability and new functionality based on specific industry needs, VI7 is aimed at making the entire Video Insight video management suite more intuitive, more powerful and easier to use.

New i-PRO Extreme Products:

Expanding its line of high-performance H.265 I-PRO Extreme Products, Panasonic exhibited an array of new indoor and outdoor H.265 PTZ’s, 360 Cameras and recorder models to round out its i-PRO Extreme line-up.

i-PRO Extreme Indoor and Outdoor PTZ’s

Panasonic newest line of Full HD indoor and outdoor PTZ’s (WV-S6131, WV-S6130, WV-S6111, WV-S6530N) are built on Panasonic’s high performance i-PRO Extreme platform featuring H.265 extreme compression with Smart Coding, 60FPS performance, 144dB Extreme Super Dynamic Range and Secure Communications capability. The indoor models offer a 40x Optical Zoom (21x for S6130), the outdoor model offers a 21x Optical Zoom and basic electronic image stabilization. All cameras feature Day Night mode (ICR) and deliver color sensitivity performance down to .015lx and include an SD Card slot for edge recording. The highly durable vandal-resistant case on the outdoor model WV-S6530N includes salt corrosion resistant screws and a built-in electronic dehumidification function. The addition of a ClearSite dome help keep images clear and sharp.

WJ-NX200 and WJ-NX300 Series Recorders

Complementing its recently introduced WJ-NX400 Series recorder which debuted in April 2017, Panasonic announced the availability of the new WJ-NX200 and WJ-NX300 Series i-PRO Extreme H.265 Secure Recorders, The new WJ-NX200 (9 Channel) and WJ-NX300 (16 Channel) recorders feature H.265/H.264 recording and increased recording bandwidth up to 384Mbps; and each are field expandable up to 16 Channels (NX200) and 32 Channels (NX300). The new recorders also include an integrated HD GUI capability via HDMI output, enabling a complete high definition Camera/Recorder/Viewing solution without the need for a separate PC client and both models can be field-upgraded to support Panasonic’s Secure Communications technology enabling robust end-to-end IP Security for your surveillance network when used with secure i-PRO Extreme Cameras and software. Both recorders can be delivered with 3, 4 and 6TB drive capacities in each drive slot (2x slots for WJ-NX200 and 4x slots for WJ-NX300).

i-PRO Extreme 5MP 360° Cameras

Also debuted at ASIS 2017 was Panasonic’s first i-PRO Extreme based H.265 360º Camera models, WV-S4150 (Indoor) and WV-S4550L/WV-S4550LM (Outdoor Vandal), featuring 5 Megapixel resolution up to 30 fps, Super Dynamic Range up to 108 dB and the high performance of Panasonic’s i-PRO Extreme platform including iA (intelligent Auto), Extreme H.265 Compression with Smart Coding and Secure Communications capability. The new 5MP 360º cameras are also field-upgradable to enable advanced analytics functions including people counting and heat mapping via optional WV-SAE200W plug-in software. The WV-S4550L and WV-S4550LM models include built-in IR Illumination and an outdoor-ready vandal-resistant package and the S4550LM model is supplied with an M12 ethernet connector for use in transit applications.

New Arbitrator Body-Worn Camera

Panasonic’s next generation Arbitrator Body-Worn Camera (BWC) MK3 offers industry-leading battery life, durability and compatibility. Incorporating feedback from law enforcement agencies around the country, the Panasonic MK3 camera is designed to be rugged and reliable in any situation. New features of the Arbitrator BWC MK 3 include more than 12-hour battery life, IP67-rated design that makes the body-worn camera resistant when exposed to dirt, drops, water submersion and other environmental conditions, and compatibility with Panasonic’s Enterprise-Level Evidence Management Software and In-Vehicle recording systems.
