Let’s face it, Australia is not the first place that springs to mind when you think about skiing.
Let’s face it, Australia is not the first place that springs to mind when you think about skiing. But failing to do so could be a big mistake. And guests visiting the fabulous Elk at Falls in the Australian Alps would be the first to tell you so.
Located in the heart of the stunning Falls Creek Village, Victoria, much of Elk’s lodge-style accommodation has recently been completely rebuilt and the renovation has seen the addition of five deluxe suites and five luxury apartments.
Sleek contemporary interiors by Coy + Yiontis architects with Nordic inspired furniture and fittings, luxury beds and linen, the latest heating, security and Wi-Fi systems, coupled with stunning alpine views from every room, now make Elk at Falls the place for skiing couples, families and groups to stay.
With regard to security, the renovation was the perfect opportunity to install the latest in access control technology to provide a convenient, comfortable, safe and secure experience for guests throughout their stay while giving the owners the control and room management monitoring they needed.
Nick Burton, Managing Director of Steve Burton Security Supplies, the company that carried out the security installation commented, “The main reason the Elk at Falls chose
SALTO access control was because of their
JustIN BLE Mobile guest key capability which enables guests to receive their room key on their smartphone.
Also the architect loved the appearance of SALTO’s XS4 Mini escutcheons and XS4 2.0 wall readers, with their choice of white and black finishes, as they matched in well with the recent refurbishments and the new black and white cladding used on the exterior of the building, as well as with the black and white interior walls of the property.
We’ve installed 33 units on apartment doors, common doors and into back of house areas, together with some SALTO GEO cylinder locks and the system is providing the owners with a really easy way to efficiently control who can access what, when and where.”
Owner of Elk at Falls, Leanne O'Connor, said, “With 2 out of 3 hotel online bookings now made from a smartphone, mobile access presents new opportunities to drive business to our lodge, improving both the guest experience and our operations.
The fact that our staff can send the room key to the guest's smartphone is great as guests can often arrive at all different times of the day. This means lodge staff don't need to handover or keep replacing lost keys, meaning they can spend more time doing other activities to enhance our guest’s experience.
Having time controlled fire doors into our restaurant area is also particularly handy. Previously guests could gain access to the restaurant when it was closed; SALTO access control now prevents this from happening. As well as guest smartphone access, we are also providing our staff with SALTO silicone wristbands to gain access to all areas of the building. These are very convenient for our staff. All in all, we’re very satisfied with our new SALTO access system.”
