Milestone enhances distribution channel with new value-add distributor
Milestone Systems Australia is committed to an Open Platform channel partner strategy that continuously reviews existing distribution arrangements. As a result a new distribution model has been implemented in Australia as of 1 January, 2016. This model differentiates the roles that each distributor provides to the channel.
Milestone Systems Australia is committed to an Open Platform channel partner strategy that continuously reviews existing distribution arrangements. This ensures that the resellers, and ultimately the end users, have access to resources that enable them to best meet their needs in an evolving market. Over the last few years Milestone Systems Australia has been carefully reviewing the distribution landscape and its ability to service these ongoing needs.

According to Danielle Joynson, Distribution Channel Manager, Milestone Systems Australia, "With 10 years in Channel Management I have identified an opportunity to further support the Open Platform philosophy with our distributors, as well as enhance the current distribution model to better serve the increasing Australian security market needs." 

As a result a new distribution model has been implemented in Australia as of 1 January, 2016. This model differentiates the roles that each distributor provides to the channel. The roles include Value Added Distributors (VADs) and Vertical Specialist Distributors (VSD). VADs remain as the category for broad-based distributors, while the newly introduced VSD distributors will provide further reach and coverage to the specialised vertical segments not currently serviced by VADs.

"This realignment of the channel will be conducted in a number of phases and evolve into an ongoing review process to ensure there is the right mix for our total market coverage," said Joynson.

New Distributor Partnership with BGW Technologies

Milestone Systems open platform IP video management software (VMS) will now be offered by BGW Technologies, the national value-add distributor of world-class security and technology products. A full range of Milestone security solutions including Milestone XProtect Video Management Software and Milestone Husky Network Video Recorders will be available via its branches across Australia including Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

BGW Technologies currently has five team members previously certified by Milestone and will have thirteen certified staff on its team in the weeks ahead.
