On the first day at Secutech International 2016, we’ve seen over 410 exhibitors at the show floor, featuring 8 applications and solutions. In the recent years, a growing demand on more integrated solutions and systems applications is spotted in the security market. Security product highlighting superb features and functions is not enough for the market.
In Singapore, the government will subsidize, up to 50 to 80%, the companies willing to adopt systems that actually help to increase productivity without increasing manpower, according to William Goh, Director of ADP Tech. This policy gives security players a great business opportunity, as the policy is encouraging end users to embrace and purchase systems with more value-added functions.
Meanwhile, Goh sees a growing trend in adopting wireless surveillance systems in Singapore and some big cities, as most of the major cities are well-equipped with infrastructures such as Wi-Fi systems. With stable Wi-Fi connection in the city, instead of placing a huge amount of the budget on cabling for analog systems, going with wireless solution is more practical and flexible for future upgrade, as Goh mentioned.
According to Goh’s observation, Asian manufacturers have to change their mindset and put quality before quantity, in order to stay ahead in the security market.
