ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems provided a complete solution, both products and maintenance, for docking stations at DHL's new logistics center at Budapest Airport, Hungary.

Customer
Postal and logistics company DHL is one of the world's most international companies with a wide global presence and a workforce exceeding 315,000 employees.

Challenge
DHL was constructing a brand-new logistics center at Budapest Airport to handle its rapidly-growing volume of shipments.

More than 50,000 of less than truckload shipments and more than 33,000 full truckload shipments would be handled per annum. The new facility thus needed 41 docking stations for loading and unloading as well as additional doors.

Solution
ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems distributor Crawford-Hungary Kft provided a solution to equip the logistics center with 41 complete docking stations, including 37 Crawford standard levelers, 4 pieces of Crawford Jumbo levelers, dock shelters and Crawford 542 overhead sectional doors. In addition to the docking bays, there are a further 7 Crawford 542 overhead sectional doors operating in the facility.

The products contributed to a complete solution including the installation of the pits and frames, in addition to the installation of the Crawford overhead sectional doors, levelers and shelters.

The agreement also included a long-lasting partnership with the customer including a maintenance contract.
