Traffic jam problem is quite serious during rush hours in Bangkok. The police department would like to have surveillance deployment on the streets and corners to monitor traffic load. However, to deploy wired installation in crowded downtown area would be quite difficult. Eventually, the police department of Bangkok adopted ALCON's 2.4GHz wireless outdoor communication system.
Solution:
ALCON ASU-24005g, the 2.4GHz wireless outdoor bridge system, helps to send camera images back to central management center. A total of 8 sets cameras are located in different site from distance of 1-to-3 km respectively. ALCON distributor helped to integrated 8 sets of ASU-24005g with camera at every fixed site, and used 2 units of AAP-2410gMS with omni-directional antenna to receive surveillance signal from 8 of ASU-24005g.
To monitor traffic load, the MIS person just needs to sit in from of the screen and check with the real-time images that ASU-24005g sent back. While ASU-24005g and AAP-2410gMS use IP68 certified outdoor enclosure, the project owner doesn't need to worry whether rain will enter into the outdoor bridge unit influencing transmission quality or rusting materials and components inside. Stable performance and product reliability are the most important they concern and they got the perfect answer from ALCON's solution.
