Navtech Radar, the world's manufacturer of radar-based automatic incident detection (AID) solutions for traffic management applications, will be exhibiting their ClearWay solution with the new CTS350- X radar at the 10th European ITS Congress. The company has teamed up with Imtech Traffic & Infra, specialists in delivering total solutions for the Traffic and infrastructure market at the Conference, which takes place in Helsinki, June 16 -19 2014.

Dr Stephen Clark, Technical Director of Navtech Radar explains, “Our Radar based AID solution has now been adopted as a de facto standard in many places. As demand for larger volumes of radars has gone up, we have invested heavily in the development of a new radar, which is lighter, smaller and easier to install and commission. Earlier this year, we announced that Navtech have entered a 4-year Framework contract with Trafikverket in Sweden – the country's national transport administration – where CTS350-X will be deployed for multilane running on strategic road stretches with no hard shoulder throughout the country. The first stretch of road which will be equipped with the new CTS350-X ClearWay AID solution is a part of the E4 motorway, running from Stockholm to Arlanda International Airport. Several of the AID projects our technology is implemented on include multilane running on strategic roads, with no hard shoulder, so fast and accurate detection is a must. ClearWay gives very low numbers of false alarms – typically 1 per kilometre per 24-hour. It is further widely used in geographical regions where inclement weather such as rain, fog, snow, sand, and dust is common.”

ClearWay CTS350-X @ a Glance:
* Suitable for Tunnels, Bridges and Strategic Roads for Automatic Incident Detection (AID)
* Cost effective coverage of road surface – up to 1000m
* Response time of detection and alarming for a stopped vehicle – less than 10-15 seconds
* Typical mounting height provides visibility of objects both close to and far from the radar
* Range: Person – up to 350 m Radius (700 m total), Vehicle – up to 500 m radius (1000 m total)
* Interface 100 Mb Ethernet
* Operating temperature -20° Celsius to + 60° Celsius
