Smart home market has a rosy outlook in coming years. In the past, those smart home systems were found in luxury residences, and commercial buildings. Nowadays, users can see them anywhere from basic home remote control to smart home surveillance. For instance, users can turn on and off control A/C and lights just with a mobile phone app.

The launch of AetherLink Platform
GKB Security Corporation (GKB) launched a home automation solution platform called AetherLink. The platform is a cloud-based platform that is designed to achieve easiest-ever integration of all network devices. It combines security system and home automation for home users who even don't know how to set up a security camera or network configurations. The platform aims to make all electronic devices around at home acting smart and safe.

Infrared (IR) technology is the first thing to come up with when referring to home remote control. However, RFenabled technology like Z-Wave or Zigbee becomes more important in terms of interconnectivity and mobile surveillance between home appliances and mobile devices.

Its smart home solution adopts Z-wave, one of major home automation technologies, to ensure high interoperability among those Z-wave compatible devices. Z-Wave, with use of low-power RF radio, is a wireless communications protocol designed for home automation, featuring low-power and low-data wireless sensor networking.

Supported by IT, CE and digital home appliance giants like Microsoft, LG and Buffalo, the technology is popular in remotely control applications like lighting, household appliances, entertainment systems, and residential access control in households, stores and small offices.

GKB Aetherlink's camera can be embedded with motion detector sensor, temperature and humidity meter, siren device and wireless power switch module to keep your property and family belongings safe. The users can monitor temperature and humidity information on a LCD screen. With the door sensors, users can detect open and closed status of doors. With PIR monition sensors, users can detect any motion or activity to ensure home or store safety especially when they are away.

Smart IP camera for easy control and secured living
To realize the functionalities, a network IP camera is a must. Commonly, it is used for not only monitoring and recording videos but also for controlling over networked devices indoor. The IP cameras compliant with the AetherLink platform can be worked as a home gateway, being able to send notification to software or mobile apps. Also, the IP cameras can be used to control over 100 paired up z-wave devices. So that users can have secured living and easy control over digital home appliances.

Like all other smart home solutions, users can capture and share images and videos with their friends and family without difficulty with the live and playback mode for videos. Moreover, the function can help users to assure home situation via remote video monitoring besides alert notifications whenever they are away or at home.

Its Aetherlink's mobile App, applied foriOS and Android, lets users to check their property from live video and save the video clips in the SD card. 16G SD card can storage continuous recordings up to a week.

Of course, the solution lets users have no annoying tangled wire anymore. In addition to Z-Wave, the camera supports Wi-Fi wireless technology that is a mainstream technology compatible with almost all wireless electronic devices, such as NAS, mobile phones and tablets.

For end users, ease of use can be the top priority for the purchase. Plug-and-Play (PnP) is a must-to-have feature for quick and easy installation. Users have no painful struggle over complicated network configuration anymore. They can set up IP cameras by sound-activated music control function without entering users' data like SSID, user names and passwords. Moreover, the users can access IP cameras by entering the unique ID number and password, and connect with corresponding z-wave enabled devices. An ID account can register unlimited IP cameras.

five easy steps to set up
First of all, set up an IP camera. After that, download the Aetherlink software to activate IP cameras and detect sensors nearby. Then pair up detected Z-Wave sensors by “tone” with IP cameras. At last, name each sensor before operating the smart home platform.

* 1st Step: Set up IP Cam
* 2nd Step: Download the Aetherlink software
* 3rd Step: Activate IP Cam to detect sensors nearby
* 4th Step: Pair up detected sensors by “tone”
* 5th Step: Name each sensor and start work!!
