Bosch evangelizes significance of tech partnerships in APAC

Bosch evangelizes significance of tech partnerships in APAC
“Invented for Life” is more than a slogan for Bosch. To better address modern-day surveillance challenges, Bosch Security Systems will be investing more in the following development efforts, as highlighted by Markus Wierny, Group Leader of Product Marketing for Video over IP, at the Bosch Integration Partner Program event in Singapore this week: clearer vision, less environment dependent, and more accurate video data interpretation.

* Better video quality: The trend from SD and HD to 4K or even 8K is unstoppable. Once the technology gains enough traction in the consumer electronics world, security surveillance would not be far behind. Take the London Olympics for example; 4K was utilized to capture and record every little detail. Similar applications shall be realized in the physical security realm.

* Light independence: In military applications, short-wave IR (SWIR) at 720p is already mature and can easily outperform any commercial-grade IR technology today. When cost efficiencies with SWIR are achieved in the commercial security sense, adverse lighting or environmental conditions will no longer be considered challenges.

*VCA 2.0: Different from other providers' VCA solutions derived from the earlier DARPA rendition, Bosch has been long involved in motion detection technology development for the automotive industry. To date, 3-D capability with the object's height being a factor, along with self learning and calibration, will ensure even greater video analytic accuracy.

At the end of the day, surveillance footage should be as clear and natural as 20/20 human vision, and it is refreshing to see Bosch as one of the driving forces in bringing us there.
