Elmdene appoints Hannah Broadhurst as BDM
Innovative electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International - a subsidiary of Potter Electric Signal, announces the appointment of Hannah Broadhurst as Business Development Manager to help drive forward the company's ambitious growth plans

Innovative electronic security and fire products manufacturer, Elmdene International - a subsidiary of Potter Electric Signal, announces the appointment of Hannah Broadhurst as Business Development Manager to help drive forward the company's ambitious growth plans. Hannah is ideally suited to this strategic position at Elmdene having already spent 11 years in the security sector, the last six focusing specifically on intruder products.

Looking in more detail at Hannah's previous experience, she joins Elmdene from distributor Norbain SD Ltd where, latterly, as Intruder Business Manager she was responsible for running Norbain's Intruder Products Division. Hannah's remit at Norbain included the management of Elmdene's product portfolio, specifically PSUs (Power Supply Units), and promotion into the market. This background has provided Hannah with a strong appreciation of the competitive commercial environment in the security sector, technology trends and, crucially, changing customer requirements. Prior to her six years at Norbain, she was with manufacturer Europlex Technologies promoting integrated intruder and access control solutions, DVRs and IP video encoders.

Moving ahead, as an integral part of Elmdene's senior management team reporting directly into the Managing Director, Hannah will be tasked with delivering the strategy required to expand Elmdene's security and fire products business in new and existing markets across EMEA. A major focus is likely to be the building-up of Elmdene's already significant market share in the UK - currently the company's largest market - and the identifying of potential opportunities elsewhere, especially across mainland Europe.

Commenting on her appointment, Hannah Broadhurst said: "I am looking forward to the exciting opportunities, and challenges, provided by this position as I move back into a manufacturing environment. This is a chance for me to join a well established, highly respected, and growing business, in a more senior role, where I believe my knowledge will prove invaluable. I am, of course, already very familiar with Elmdene through my work at Norbain and have been really impressed with the transformation of the company, and its industry-leading product range, over the past few years. Time and again Elmdene has proven that it is committed to investing in new markets and products, a case in point being the highly efficient switch mode power PSUs.”

Said Ian Moore, Managing Director, Elmdene International Limited: "We are delighted to have someone with Hannah's strong industry credentials join our senior management team. I was very impressed with her professionalism and market knowledge when she previously handled our products through the distribution channel whilst at Norbain. I see the Business Development Manager as one of the most pivotal roles in the business as we seek to expand Elmdene's footprint in a number of key vertical sectors and regions. The fact that Hannah is already well acquainted with many of our products, and potential routes to market, means that she is going to be equipped to make a positive contribution to this effort from the start.

"Alongside this, Hannah is taking up her role at a major milestone for the business. We celebrate our 50th anniversary this year - an impressive accomplishment by any measure - and, given the strong emphasis we place on R&D and understanding customer requirements, we are well placed to provide high quality, innovative, solutions to prospective users wherever they might me across EMEA. The unprecedented strength of our product offering today is underlined by the fact that over the past 12 months we have added to an ever expanding portfolio of switch mode PSUs and brought to market, cutting-edge, Power over Ethernet standby power supplies, a solution to help meet the fire industry standard (EN54-23) for Visual Alarm Devices (VAD), a cost effective in-line UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) and a modular external siren."
