UAE taxi company turns to fingerprints for time/attendance management
Arabia Taxi Group (ATG), a taxi company in the United Arab Emirates with employees located in five different emirates, recently turned to Fingertec to develop a centralized attendance management system. Fingertec's local reseller, Mobisat IT Solutions, helped ATG identify needs and possible obstacles and installed the solution. Mobisat recommended ATG to install Fingertec's fingerprint time/attendance and door access devices that come with various verification modes, including fingerprints, smart cards and passwords.

Most time attendance systems did not meet the price/performance requirements as ATG employees frequently transfer within branches, clock in and out of different branches, and have three different working schedules. These conundrums meant the taxi company needed a centralized system to generate required reports. Furthermore, 75 percent of the staff have hard-to-read fingerprints due to sustained wear and tear from taxi repairing. However, ATG was not interested in using RFID cards or facial recognition, which gave Mobisat no choice but to provide a multimodal biometric solution. The data is collected from the head office, and the required reports can be generated from Fingertec's management software.

Initially, Mobisat installed one system at the Dubai office. After its successful implementation, the remaining five branches followed suit. ATG is very satisfied with the current setup. “Mobisat had received an order of nine units with the same requirement for Habeebee Food Group, which is a sister company of Arabia Taxi Group,” remarked Luqman Hussain of Mobisat.
