Viscount Systems, a supplier of security systems and software, is pleased to announce that the company has received confirmation to secure 30 high-rise apartment buildings in Canada. The first orders were shipped in February. The projects are for touch screen intercom systems with the ability to upgrade to access control and other Viscount applications. The value of the touch screen orders will be $150,000.
"We are pleased to see continued improvement for both our existing touch screen intercom systems business as well as Freedom as we continue through 2013," noted Stephen Pineau, CEO of Viscount. "We had a difficult time from 2009 through 2012 with our traditional intercom business since it was closely tied to the housing market. With signs that the North American housing market is improving and that housing starts are increasing we are encouraged that touch screen intercom systems and access control system will both contribute to our growth over the coming years."
