Protection One acquires Integration Logistics

Protection announced the acquisition of Newark, Del.-based Integration Logistics, adding new integrated systems capabilities to its commercial and national account security offerings.

Protection announced the acquisition of Newark, Del.-based Integration Logistics, adding new integrated systems capabilities to its commercial and national account security offerings.

Integration Logistics is known for its highly integrated solutions that include services beyond traditional access, video and fire. The company is certified in information technology, voice/telephony services and boasts an impressive portfolio of clients. Integration Logistics co-founders Ken Schafenberg and John Smolinski will lead the new Integrated Systems Division at Protection 1, bringing all 40 of their employees with them.

In March, Protection 1 also acquired Camtronic Security Integration, giving Protection 1 a specialized focus in high-end video solutions geared towards national account clients. Recognized for their experience with prominent retailers and large video projects with tens of thousands of networked cameras, Camtronic clients look for high-touch concierge service. In addition, Camtronic clients are now able to take advantage of a full line of security services, including intrusion and fire, among others.

“The additions of Camtronic and Integration Logistics allow us to give our customers a more robust customer experience in terms of products and services, while growing our employee base with subject matter experts in each of our offerings,” stated Protection 1 CEO Timothy J. Whall. “We've seen triple-digit growth over the past two years in our national account division. I believe this growth is due to several factors, one of which is the high level of dissatisfaction with customer service we hear of from national account clients in the marketplace. That dissatisfaction has enabled our approach to stand out as truly differentiated.”

In 2011, Protection 1 introduced industry firsts such as Maintenance Rewards, product inventory services, benchmarking and dashboards. The company's infrastructure is centered on a philosophy of close, clear and transparent communication across the company and with their clients.

“Integrated and highly complex network-based solutions seemed to come up more and more with our client base,” said Whall. “We wanted to make sure that we were addressing these needs by having the expertise within the company. Ken, John and their entire employee base have very broad and deep IT experience, coupled with a like-minded approach to treating the customer.”

“At Integration Logistics, we were looking for a way to continue to grow and be part of something bigger, while still being true to our approach to business, which has always been customer-centric,” said Schafenberg. “We know we found that in Protection 1 and continue to be impressed, not only in how they serve their clients, but in how they are managing the integration of our company – seamlessly and without customer interruption.”
