Behavioral Recognition Systems (BRS Labs), inventor of AISight, the first artificial intelligence video surveillance system that automatically learns normal behaviors in complex environments and delivers real-time alerts for unexpected activity, has been selected to supply an advanced behavioral recognition system to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). Public documents value the project at over $2 million dollars. AISight's artificial intelligence learns the normal behavior of people, vehicles and other moving objects within each surveillance camera's field of view. It notifies security personnel when it detects unusual or unexpected behaviors, such as an unauthorized person on rail tracks or someone leaving a package left unattended on a bench.

“San Francisco is a high-risk public transportation environment with the highest standards for video surveillance,” said John Frazzini, president of BRS Labs. “Our behavioral recognition technology is the only solution that teaches itself to accurately identify unpredictable behavior in and around transit stations, and then automatically alert transit police. Our software helps make San Francisco one of the most sophisticated and capable transit security systems in the world.” SFMTA manages San Francisco's entire surface transportation network, including the San Francisco Municipal Railway (Muni). Muni is the seventh largest transit system in the U.S., as well as one of the oldest. It serves more than 200 million customers a year with a workforce of nearly 5,000 individuals.
