The fifth edition of Secutech Vietnam 2012, an international security and fire safety exhibition and conference, will be held from August 22 to 24 at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Co-organized by Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media and VIETFAIR, the 2012 show is expected to feature 250 booths in 3,000 square meters of exhibition space. Exhibitors will showcase security, fire and safety products.

Mr. Parson Lee, MD of Messe Frankfurt New Era Business Media, said: "Secutech Vietnam is the premier platform for product sourcing and networking. The show has strong support from Vietnamese government organizations, including the Ministry of Public Security – General Department of Technique, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Fire Prevention & Protection and the Ministry of Trade & Industry in Ho Chi Minh City. This makes the show a ‘must attend' annual event for local distributors, wholesalers, installers and end users. We are expecting 5,000 professional visitors.”

The 2011 show attracted 4,529 visitors from around the world. “There was an 18 percent increase in visitors compared to the previous edition and most Asian countries and regions were represented,” Lee said. “I believe Secutech Vietnam 2012 will be another success.”

Located in the heart of Southeast Asia, Vietnam is an emerging market with high economic growth. During 2012, the country's GDP is expected to grow 7.5 percent. In addition, the Vietnamese government invests about US$3 billion in public security products and equipment each year. This includes investment in commercial and residential buildings, which is leading to strong demand for security and fire safety products and services.

According to a&s Asia, the southern economic and financial center of Ho Chi Minh City provides rich business opportunities for security vendors. “Vietnam's economy has grown over the last few years,” said Jonathan Sinar, Risk Management Services in Fire Security and Traffic, Xtralis. “The basic infrastructure is in place, which provides a good foundation to build upon.”

Other foreign and local industry experts are similarly optimistic about the nation's long-term potential. Many companies reported impressive 10 to 30 percent revenue growth in 2011. “The security market has much potential here,” said Bryan He, Director of Secom. “It is small now in comparison with many other developing markets, but it is maturing really fast.”

Secutech Vietnam is the nation's only platform for security networking and information exchange. The Global Digital Surveillance Forum Vietnam will take place during Secutech Vietnam, where industry experts are invited to present case studies and discuss IP hardware and software applications. This forum is expected to attract IT and telecom industry players and end users.

Another show highlight will be the IP Camera Demo. This is a unique platform where various IP camera suppliers will conduct live demonstrations. This event allows visitors to compare how different cameras perform in the same environment.

The 2012 show will introduce the Intelligent Building Pavilion, showcasing intrusion alarms, access controls, integrated platforms, biometrics and guard services. In addition, the show will offer the latest security products, including surveillance, intercoms, access control, RFID, IP equipment, software applications and homeland security.
