Firetide, the leading provider of wireless broadband networks that enable concurrent video, voice and data applications for government, transportation and commercial customers, has expanded its leadership team with the hiring of three key executives. The move comes as a result of increasing demand and sales worldwide for Firetide's products. In the US, Denise Barton was brought onboard as VP of marketing communications; in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Luigi Portaluri was hired as VP of sales, and for the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) markets, Mauricio Canas is the new Director of sales and systems engineering.

Denise Barton has joined to lead communications and marketing worldwide for the company, and brings an extensive background in marketing communications for network communications and network security solutions. She joins Firetide from Tropos Networks where she was the driving force behind the successful repositioning of the company as a smart grid communications vendor. Her previous experience includes senior marketing management positions with Cisco Systems, Bay Networks and 3Com Corporation. Luigi Portaluri has been hired as VP of EMEA sales for Firetide. Previously he was VP of EMEA for March Networks SpA in Milan, where he lead the sales organization, increasing and accelerating revenue growth. Prior to that, he held several senior sales management positions with PELCO, Checkpoint Systems, and Honeywell. Mauricio Canas has joined the company as Director of sales and systems engineering for CALA markets. Prior to joining Firetide, Canas held a similar role at Proxim Wireless where he developed and implemented strategies that increased market penetration in the region. Previously, he held a management role at a network systems integration company in Mexico City.

iControl Networks

Robert Hagerty, CEO

iControl Networks, a leader in broadband home management, announced the appointment of Robert (Bob) Hagerty as the company's new CEO. As CEO, Hagerty will focus on product execution with iControl's existing customer and partner networks, as well as growing the company through new market and partnership opportunities. Hagerty will replace co-CEOs Jim Johnson and Paul Dawes, both of whom will remain with iControl in leadership positions.

Hagerty comes to iControl with more than 35 years of experience in the technology industry. He most recently served as CEO of Polycom, a worldwide leader in video and voice conferencing, and web and data solutions. During his tenure at Polycom, Hagerty increased company revenue from $37 million to $1.1 billion through organic growth and key acquisitions, and held the lead unit market share in video and voice conferencing equipment. Before joining Polycom, Hagerty held executive roles at several of the world's leading technology companies, including Digital Equipment Corporation, Conner Peripherals and Logitech.

Mark Provinsal, Director of European Sales and Marketing

Vicon Industries, a leading designer and producer of network video management systems, announced the appointment of Mark Provinsal as European Sales and Marketing Director, responsible for all sales and marketing operations of Vicon UK and Vicon Germany. Combined, these offices support the markets of Europe, the Middle East, Russia, India and most of Africa. Provinsal assumes this role after serving the past 18 months as Vicon's VP, Marketing and Product Management at Vicon's U.S. Headquarters in Hauppauge, NY. Prior to that, Provinsal was Executive VP of Dedicated Micros, responsible for U.S. Operations. In his new position, Mark and his family will relocate to the UK where he will work from Vicon's European Headquarters in Fareham, UK.

Vicon Industries also announced the appointment Sandy Gilad as GM of Vicon Systems Limited, Israel. In this role, Mr. Gilad will spearhead Vicon's Research and Development efforts, leading the team of engineers responsible for designing the Company's VMS software and line of network components. Gilad comes to Vicon from Israeli-based NICE Systems, a developer of end-to-end security solutions, where he was Director of Technology, Office of the CTO. He replaces Yigal Abiri, who is retiring from the industry after serving as Vicon Systems Limited GM since 1999.
