SchoolsConnects delivers solution that addresses several issues surrounding student activities, most important of all, every parent nightmare about the safety of student bus riders. The system will send messages to a parent's mobile device, or email, to provide real time updates when a student has been safely picked up or dropped off at home or at a school. Getting parent actively involved in education of the child is also very critical for a successful education system, and an important aspect of the solution and our Class Attendance module allow parents to get involved.
SchoolsConnects will advise a parent in real time when a student has been late for class or skipped school. The entire application is delivered using wireless communication between EarthSearch LogiBoxx and RFID reader. "We are very excited about the launching of SchoolsConnects, we hope to deliver the solution globally through our 'CADFEET' program (Corporate Advertisement Dollars for Enhancement of Education Technology). Our goal is to make SchoolsConnects available to every school system globally at no cost with free equipment and services," said Kayode Aladesuyi CEO of ECDC. In addition to the transportation/fleet maintenance and class attendance monitoring, the system offers access control and parent/teacher communication modules which allow teachers to upload document grades and other information for parent viewing, it also offers an email system that allow both teachers and parents to communicate directly about student performance.
"What I like the most about SchoolsConnects is the information we provide to career counselors, the data is incredible, when you see certain pattern about a student academic behavior such as consistently skipping a class where the student seem to get high grades, or student skips a class that he or she is consistently failing, or when a student is more likely to be the first in a specific class because of strong interest. These data can allow career counselors to know where a student interest lies or could give counselors an indication of a problem that a parent needs to be aware of. Parent can easily detect if there are other distractions causing a good student to avoid a class they love," said Chris Ward, Hardware Manager for ECDC.
