WebGate Products First to Pass Rigorous HDcctv Compliance Tests

WebGate, a Korean leading manufacturer and developer for cutting-edge Digital Surveillance and HDcctv Alliance Member, has earned the World First HDcctv Compliance Certification from the HDcctv Alliance.

WebGate, a Korean leading manufacturer and developer for cutting-edge Digital Surveillance and HDcctv Alliance Member, has earned the World First HDcctv Compliance Certification from the HDcctv Alliance.

As a result of passing the tests, WebGate is entitled to display the HDcctv logo on its HDcctv-compliant products.

  • HDcctv Alliance Member WebGate has released two HDcctv-compliant products, both world firsts: an HDcctv camera (C720B: HD-SDI 720p Box type camera) and an HDcctv repeater (RP-102: HD-SDI 1CH Repeater and 2CH Distributor). Both of these products passed the rigorous HDcctv compliance tests, which guarantee at least 100m transmission over low-grade RG59 coaxial cable, interoperability with other v 1.1 HDcctv-compliant products and forward compatibility with v 2.0 and later HDcctv-compliant products.
  • WebGate's HDcctv-compliant products will be included in the Compliant Product Finder at the revamped HDcctv Alliance website, to be launched early in 2011.
  • WebGate is planning soon to add an entire lineup of HDcctv-compliant products, including a DVR series and 1080p cameras, to the list of HDcctv-compliant products.

“WebGate has earned the distinction of becoming the first company ever to earn the right to display the HDcctv logo, denoting v 1.0 HDcctv compliance," said Todd Rockoff, HDcctv Alliance Executive Director. "WebGate's HDcctv-compliant camera and repeater are guaranteed to transmit uncompressed video over at least 100m of RG59 coaxial cable, are ensured of interoperating with other HDcctv-compliant products, and are forward-compatible with future versions of HDcctv-compliant products. Therefore, WebGate enjoys a distinct market advantage over competitors who offer HD-SDI equipment which is not certified compliant with any standard, offers no transmission distance guarantee and may not interoperate with HDcctv-compliant products."

Mr. Geun-Sun, Hong (The president and CEO of Webgate) said “we will be early pioneer in the HD-SDI camera fields with our standard product” saying that “The certification means Webgate HD-SDI is officially admitted to perform at its best maintaining compatibilities by global standard association of HD-CCTV”. Also he added that “Webgate will have full range of HD CCTV by releasing 1080P(1920X1024) camera and HD-SDI DVR within early of next year”.

About HDcctv Alliance
HDcctv Alliance is the non-profit, global consortium that develops and promulgates the global industry specification for high-definition closed-circuit television (HDcctv). The original HDcctv specification is derived from broadcast industry standards for serialized transmission of uncompressed video over coaxial cable. However, HDcctv is being developed to provide for transmission of digital video over various media (including optical fiber and CatX), and the HDcctv standard optimizes the camera interface for video surveillance requirements. The Alliance promotes industry adoption of HDcctv technology, and it provides education to the security industry and end market. The Alliance compliance program facilitates the development of high-quality, readily interoperable HDcctv devices. Products that have earned a certificate to display the HDcctv logo are advertised as having done so by the Alliance. Detailed information about the HDcctv specification is available to Alliance members. Further information is available by visiting the HDcctv Alliance website at www.highdefcctv.org.
