Next Level Security Systems, a manufacturer of unified, networked security solutions, appointed Danny Petkevich as VP of Engineering. In this capacity, Petkevich will oversee Next Level's engineering initiatives and spearhead the development of strategic partnerships with hardware vendors.

"Danny brings knowledge and energy to Next Level Security Systems, and is a well respected technology innovator," said Peter Jankowski, Chairman and CEO, Next Level Security Systems. “Danny's experience, track record of success and industry relationships will be instrumental in enhancing product development efforts and creating a strategic roadmap for future solutions.”

Petkevich has a 20-year track record of growing global businesses and joins an experienced team of veterans at Next Level including Jankowski, who previously founded Loronix (acquired by Verint) and Sypixx (acquired by Cisco); Jumbi Edulbehram, VP of Business Development; Bill Jacobs, VP of Access Control; and Rob Tucker, VP of Sales. Petkveich, who previously served as Director, Video and Vision Business Unit at Texas Instruments, joined Next Level Security Systems due to the company's vision of combining traditionally separate subsystems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, video analytics and two-way audio, into one networked appliance.

“I am pleased to join the entrepreneurial team at Next Level Security Systems and look forward to playing an instrumental role in further strengthening the company's growing business and innovative product portfolio,” Petkevich said. “The idea of integrating traditionally disparate subsystems into a single IP appliance is revolutionary, and I recognize the inherent innovation of this approach.”

Petkevich brings experience in new technology development and product management, and a strong technical background to his new role with Next Level Security Systems. As Director, Video and Vision Business Unit for Texas Instruments, he was responsible for a US$200-million global business unit and managed a worldwide team focused on the research and development of video surveillance, video conferencing and automotive vision. Over the course of his career, he has held senior leadership roles with Freescale Semiconductor, PMC-Sierra, Staccato Systems, S3 Inc. and IBM. In addition to his experience in the technology marketplace, Petkevich also holds numerous US patents.
