G4S, an international security solutions group, appointed Dan Ryan as Regional CEO Asia, encompassing all of the G4S businesses across Asia and the Middle East.

Ryan joins G4S, from global logistics and transportation company Neptune Orient Lines (NOL) where he held a number of senior management positions including Regional President for Greater China for NOL's APL division, and Regional President for the Middle East and Regional President for Europe for the group's APL Logistics division.

He was also previously MD for Middle East, Hong Kong and Indonesia and a Regional Head for the Middle East and Europe during his 20-year career with the group.

The new role is one of four Regional CEO roles created by G4S to represent a new geographic continental management structure that will further underpin the Group's global strategic development.

US citizen Ryan, who took up his role this week, said: “I am delighted to be joining G4S at such an exciting time in the company's development. I believe my experience of the key Asian and Middle Eastern markets will help to drive the Group's business performance in these markets and support our solutions approach within our customer offering.

G4S CEO Nick Buckles said: “The continental structure is focused on ensuring high quality strategic development, delivery of our solutions strategy across our key markets, and developing the careers of our senior management.”

“I am delighted that Dan is joining the Group. His expertise of the Asian and Middle East markets, and the global logistics landscape, will be invaluable as we embed our solutions strategy within these key markets and seek to maximize the potential of the growing trend of large multinationals to rationalize their global supply chains.

Ryan is also a Charter Member of the Middle East Logistics/Supply Chain Management Forum, Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association and the American Chamber of Commerce- Shanghai.
