- The X-Net fiber transmission range products are the 1, 2, 4 and 8-channel OPT-LAN transmitters and receivers. These modules combine uncompressed analog video (with data and audio) with an additional Ethernet channel to permit transmission of network cameras, LPR data, wireless transmission and other remotely based Ethernet devices over a single optical fiber.
A key feature of the X-Net range is the inclusion of small form-factor pluggable (SFP) optical ports in every fiber product in the range. SFP optics can be exchanged in seconds, facilitating coarse wave division multiplexing (CWDM, up to 144 video channels over a single fiber) and increasing transmission distance to 160 km from a single light source. Another key advantage of SFP optics is reduction in expense of spares holding and elimination of engineer time on site replacing faulty lasers.
