Songdo ConvensiA, one of Korea's newest convention centers, opened in October 2008. Located in the Incheon Free Economic Zone, the center boasts two exhibition halls and 23 conference rooms, for a floor area of 54,000 meters. Designed by Kohn Pederson Fox, the center's unique shape has made it a landmark in Korea.
Songdo ConvensiA is strategically located for maximum access to northeast Asia. Only 15 kilometers away from the Incheon International Airport, it can be reached from major Asian cities in less than three and a half hours.
Business Objective
Conceptualized as a leading convention center in northeast Asia with state-of-the-art technology, Songdo ConvensiA center's operator Incheon Tourism Organization (ITO) was looking for the highest level of conference, simultaneous interpretation, public address and video surveillance system from a recognized brand with experience in security systems.
Solution
After two years of design by a Bosch Security certified partner, ITO conducted benchmarking tests for various suppliers to check system stability, interference from mobile devices and functionality.
After the tests, ITO decided to us e the Bosch DCN Next Generation with Integrus System due to its excellent test performance. The communication system was the best choice for global conference events, which require outstanding performance. The conference center installed 11 DCN Next Generation systems, consisting of 120 Concentus units, 60 discussion units and 400 Integrus receivers in 11 conference rooms.
The ITO was looking for a proven and certified public address system with good audio quality, system stability, functionality and flexible interface with other systems. As the Bosch Praesideo system came highly recommended with deployments at airports, convention centers and transportation terminals, it was used for the Songdo ConvensiA. The central monitoring center set up 20 power amplifiers and four call stations to broadcast announcements, music and evacuation notifications.
A Bosch video surveillance system secures the property as well as guaranteeing visitor safety. The system includes 100 G4 AutoDomes and a LTC8800 matrix switcher to monitor the large venue.
For the Songdo ConvensiA convention center, Bosch provided a one-stop solution for communications and video surveillance systems from design to maintenance.
Results
The Songdo ConvensiA venue hosts global conferences, forums and exhibitions every year. Using a comprehensive Bosch communication and video surveillance system, the center's performance enables participants and visitors to enjoy exhibitions and conferences.
