Samsung cameras have been installed as part of an IP network video surveillance solution at Instanbul University, Turkey, in order to create a secure environment at the university’s guest house which provides residential accommodation for 3,500 female students.
Samsung cameras have been installed as part of an IP network video surveillance solution at Instanbul University, Turkey, in order to create a secure environment at the university's guest house which provides residential accommodation for 3,500 female students.
350 Samsung 2-megapixel full HD network cameras with built-in IR illuminators were installed at the guest house, within and around a social club, and three residential blocks. They have been configured with the privacy masking feature to ensure that the students' privacy is respected.
Images from the cameras are recorded onto NVRs, enabling authorized personnel to retrieve video evidence of any suspicious activity. The recorders can simultaneously record and multi-stream image transmissions at a high bandwidth speed of 400 Mbps. It also offers the potential to record and store videos for up to 108 days, via 12 internal hard drives.
The video surveillance system has also been configured to enable alarm events and system failure alerts to be communicated to authorized personnel via email.
