Avigilon announced Andrew Martz, Avigilon's current chief operating officer (COO), will resign from his role at the end of 2012 to pursue other endeavours. Mr. Martz will stay on as an adviser for six months after he steps down to ensure a successful transition. With the rapid growth of the company, the role of the COO will be split into two new positions, an executive VP of product development and an executive VP of global operations, to further accelerate the company's growth and product innovation.

"I want to personally thank and congratulate Andrew for all he's accomplished, helping transform Avigilon into the technology leader in the security industry that we are today," said Alexander Fernandes, president and CEO at Avigilon. "The entire Avigilon team wishes him success in his endeavours."

The two new roles will ensure Avigilon continues to lead the market with innovative and high-quality products. The executive vice president of product development will advance our track record of bringing innovative high-definition video surveillance solutions to the market. The executive vice president of global operations will manage all worldwide facilities and oversee the company's state-of-the-art Canadian manufacturing plant in Richmond, B.C.

"This is an exciting time for our fast-growing company as we extend our leadership position. The creation of these two roles will help us to accelerate our competitive advantage by putting additional emphasis on the innovative technologies we bring to market," added Mr. Fernandes.
