INDESIT is one of the European leading manufacturers and distributors of major domestic appliances. The company was founded in 1975. INDESIT has 17 production sites (Italy, Poland, UK, Russia, China and Turkey) and 16,000 employees. The initial project was to protect the first site with access control system. Production sites have to stay operational 24/7, so they can deliver a quality service to their customers. Poland was chosen to be the pilot site and a test was required by the management to evaluate the CDVI access control system. The first step was for INDESIT to run a full test with CDVI access control system in the Polish site over one month.Once the tests were completed, the customer was able to appreciate the capability of CDVI access control. The next important step for INDESIT was to get their SAP (Enterprise Resource Planning) integrated with CDVI access control. This integration made them save time and money. Centaur access control database was updated automatically whenever an employee was added, modified or deleted on SAP. That meant one single centralized database from SAP. Then CDVI access control database read the file generated from SAP and add, modify or delete a user according to the instructions. Other operations were performed by CDVI access control database, such as setting access rights and creating a card for each users.
